For what value of x does 25x=5x2-3?

I might be wrong but I'll give it a shot, you subtract the 5x from the right side and put it on the left with makes it 20x=2-3. Then subtract the 3 from the 2 which makes it 20x=-1. So it would be -0.05.

I'm not 100% sure. But his is my guess.

Important:  Use " ^ " to indicate exponentiation:  25x=5x^2-3.

Rearrange these terms in descending powers of x:  5x^2 - 25x - 3 = 0

This is a quadratic equation. To solve it, you could use a graphing calculator, the quadratic formula, completing the square or other approaches.

Let's complete the square of 5x^2 - 25x - 3 = 0:

5(x^2 - 5x)                        = 3
5(x^2 - 5x + 25/4 - 25/4)   = 3
5(x-5/2)^2    - 125/4          = 3 = 12/4
5(x-5/2)^2                         =137/4
  (x-5/2)^2     -25/4           = 137/20
  (x -5/2)^2                        = 125/20+137/20 = 162/20= 81/10
Taking the sqrt of both sides, we get:

  x-5/2                               = plus or minus 9/sqrt(10)
Then:

x = 5/2 plus or minus 9sqrt(10) / 10, or
x = 25/10 plus or minus 9sqrt(10)/10, or

       25 plus or minus 9sqrt(10)
x = -------------------------------------
                      10

Megan picks a card from a deck of cards numbered 1-10 and rolls a number cube. What is the probability she chooses a card with a
ehidna [41]

Answer:

1/20 if there is only those 10 cards in a deck and 1/26 if there is 52 cards in the deck.

Step-by-step explanation:

There is 3/6 chances to roll a die with an even number, aka 1/2. If there are only 10 cards in the deck and only one of them has the number 5, it's 1/10. To find the probability of both these things happening, multiply the probabilities. 1/10 x 1/2 is equal to 1/20. However, since the question doesn't specify if there is 52 cards like a normal deck and 4 5's etc, there can be a different answer because if there's 52 cards in a deck, 4 of them 5's, the chance of getting a 5 is 4/52 or 1/13 and then you multiply that by 1/2 to get 1/26

|×|=×
is the absolute value of x always, sometimes, or never x
il63 [147K]

Answer:

Sometimes

Step-by-step explanation:

I’ll give you an example so you can understand:

Let’s say x is 4. So plug 4 into the problem:

|4|=4 → This is a very true statement, where the absolute value of 4 is equal to 4.

Now, let’s say x is -7. So plug -7 into the problem:

|-7|=-7 → This is a false statement because it’s saying that the absolute value of -7 is -7 which is very untrue.

So |x|=x only works for positive numbers, but not negative numbers. Therefore, |x|=x is the absolute value of x sometimes.

Hope this helps and answers your question! :)

An engineer estimated the weight of a steel beam to be 600 pounds. The actual weight of the beam was 639 pounds. Find the absolu
mario62 [17]

Answer:

Absolute error = 39

Percent Error = 6.10%

Step-by-step explanation:

Actual value = 639 pounds

Observed Value = 600 pounds

The formula to find absolute error is:

Absolute Error = Actual value - Observed Value

                        = 639 - 600

                        = 39

The formula to find Percent error is:

Percent Error = (Actual value - Observed Value / Actual value)*100

                       = (639 - 600/639)*100

                       = 6.10%

Si consideras como base uno de los rectángulos de dimensiones de 5cm y 3cm ¿cuanto mide la altura de ese prisma?
Vinvika [58]

Respuesta:

h = V / 15

Explicación paso a paso:

El volumen de un prisma rectangular se calcula usando la relación:

Largo ancho alto

Donde, largo y ancho son la dimensión de la base

Por eso,

Volumen = Base * altura

Volumen = (5 cm * 3 cm) * altura

De la pregunta, no se da el volumen, por lo tanto, tomamos el volumen como V en otro para calcular la altura, h

V = 15h

Divide ambos lados entre 15

V / 15 = 15h / 15

V / 15 = h
