The answer is both A and D. The Earth's temperature does require the three main sources that effects the coldness or heat. Like metal, rocks, or steam. And gravity, like the moon, is effecting the ocean. If the moon happens to be gone, then the water is held back.

Many billions of years ago the conditions on the surface of the Earth and some planets of the Solar System were similar, for example, the planet Mars had similar conditions, as on Earth. There were some initial cellular forms of life on Mars. Due to the formation of the atmosphere on Earth, the evolution of the original organisms has evolved to this day. It was not the case on Mars, because of the lack of an atmosphere similar to the Earth, where organisms would develop. The reasons for this are the size of Mars, which has a double smaller diameter than the Earth, incomparably smaller gravity, less tolerance for retaining a favorable atmosphere, and then a devastating impact of solar and cosmic rays on organisms, which is a direct consequence of drying the surface of Mars - the lack of water. It is similar to some other planets, although some of them have other reasons for not forming favorable conditions for developing a life.
