These are known as delusions, which is when an individual has an extremely irrational belief, usually associated with themselves, especially seeing themselves as higher in worth than others. 
I personally have had experiences with delusions when I endured a psychotic break last year... It is honestly not pretty. I believed I was a prophet who was sent down by God to preach to the world about a new religion...
