You would add 2 and 4 which is 6. and that you would add 6 to -25 which would leave you with -19.

So it is basically -25+2+4 or -25+6.
Since it is a negative, adding a positive will move the number to the right on a number line.
-25+6=-19

Hope this helps! If you have any questions, just ask!

daser333 [38]

Answer:

$96.55

Step-by-step explanation:

The computation of the money he would require is shown below:

Since lee wants to buy both pairs of shoes and the two pairs of socks

So the amount of money he needed is

= $37.07 + $42.48 + 2 × $8.50

= $37.07 +  $42.48 + $17

= $96.55

Bumek [7]

1. The simplified expression is 10x+8y-12.

Combine like terms to simplify the expression.

-6x-12+8y+16x

-6x and 16x are both like terms, so those can be combined.

-6x+16x=10x

10x+8y-12

2. The solution to the equation is x=13.

Solve by adding 17 to both sides of the equation.

-4=-17+x

-4+17=-17+17+x

13=x

Lorico [155]

Answer:

(7,\frac{13}{3})

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

<em>The equation of the first line</em>

y=\frac{1}{3}x+2 ------> equation A

<em>The equation of the second line</em>

y=\frac{4}{3}x-5 ------> equation B

Solve the system of equations by elimination

Multiply equation A by -4 both sides

(-4)y=(-4)(\frac{1}{3}x+2)

-4y=-\frac{4}{3}x-8 --------> equation C

Adds equation B and equation C

y=\frac{4}{3}x-5\\-4y=-\frac{4}{3}x-8\\--------\\y-4y=-5-8\\-3y=-13\\y=\frac{13}{3}

<em>Find the value of x</em>

substitute the value of y

\frac{13}{3}=\frac{1}{3}x+2

\frac{1}{3}x=\frac{13}{3}-2

Multiply by 3 both sides

x=13-6

x=7

therefore

The solution to the system of equations is the point (7,\frac{13}{3})

A population of 55 foxes in a wildlife preserve doubles in size every 14 years. The function y equals 55 times 2 Superscript x
Pavlova-9 [17]
Since <em>x</em> is the number of 14-year periods, the first thing we do is divide 28 years by 14. 28/14=2.  Now we use that in our function, y=55*2^x.

y=55*2^2=55*4=220
There will be 220 foxes after 28 years.
