A Nurse knows that type 1
diabetes mellitus (DM type 1) occurs as a result of destruction of the
pancreatic beta cells. This destruction can occur by two mechanisms. The
mechanism for DM type 1A is AUTOIMMUNE destruction, while the mechanism for DM
type 1B is idiopathic destruction.

The nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorous are present in limited amount and moreover they are not present in the form that can be directly taken up by the organism.
Thus, Nitrogen and Phosphorous are limiting nutrients.
