Answer:

<u>Null Hypothesis,</u> H_0 : \mu \leq 14 automobiles per month

<u>Alternate Hypothesis,</u> H_a : \mu > 14 automobiles per month

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that the manager of an automobile dealership is considering a new bonus plan designed to increase sales volume. Currently, the mean sales volume is 14 automobiles per month.

The manager wants to conduct a research study to see whether the new bonus plan increases sales volume.

<em>Let </em>\mu<em> = population mean sales volume after the new bonus plan </em>

So, <u>Null Hypothesis,</u> H_0 : \mu \leq 14 automobiles per month

<u>Alternate Hypothesis,</u> H_a : \mu > 14 automobiles per month

Here, <u><em>null hypothesis states that</em></u> the new bonus plan does not increase the sales volume as the sales is less than or equal to 14 automobiles per month.

And <em><u>alternate hypothesis states that</u></em> the new bonus plan increases the sales volume as the sales is more than 14 automobiles per month.

<em>Now, conclusion on when the null hypothesis (</em>H_0<em>) can be rejected and when it cannot be rejected is based on two perspectives;</em>

<em />

  1. <u>From test statistics point of view;</u>
  • If the test statistics is more than the critical value of any respective distribution, then we will reject our null hypothesis.
  • If the test statistics is less than the critical value of any respective distribution, then we cannot reject our null hypothesis.

     2. <u>From P-value point of view;</u>

  • If the p-value of the test statistics is more than level of significance (\alpha), then we will not reject our null hypothesis.
  • If the p-value of the test statistics is less than level of significance (\alpha), then we will reject our null hypothesis.

Describe the end behavior of the graphed function
Troyanec [42]

You have to consider the “ends” of the x-axis, the far right (for infinitely large values of x) and left (for infinitely small values of x) of the graph.

From the diagram above you can see that:

  1. When x\rightarrow -\infty, then y=f(x)\rightarrow 1 (notice that as the values of x get smaller and smaller, the graph gets closer and closer to the line y=1);
  2. When x\rightarrow \infty, then y=f(x)\rightarrow 1. (notice that as the values of x get larger and larger, the graph gets closer and closer to the line y=1).

Answer: correct choice is D.

A water tower casts a 100- foot shadow. At the same time, an 8- foot street sign casts a shadow of 6 feet. what is the height of
Elina [12.6K]
Set up and solve an equation of ratios.  Comparing shadow lengths, we get 100/6; comparing heights, we get x/8.  Set these two ratios equal to one another and solve the resulting equation for x:

100       x
----- = ------      Then 6x=800, and x = 800 feet^2 over 6 feet.  Your answer
   6        8

must have the unit of measurement "ft."

GuDViN [60]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

3/9 = 1/3

xy^2/x^8y^6 = 1/x^(8-1)y^(6-2) = 1/x^7y^4

therefore, 1/3x^7y^4

Use the graphs to estimate both solutions to x^2+x-4=0
Bogdan [553]

Answer:

No graph so we'll use the quadratic formula

x^2+x-4=0

a = 1

b = 1

c = -4

x = -1 +- sqr root (1^2 - 4 * 1 * -4) / 2

x = (-1 +- sqr root (1 +16) ) / 2

x1 = (-1 + sqr root (17)) / 2

x2 = (-1 - sqr root (17)) / 2
