Note that one side is 20 ft, and the other is 16.

This means that the side that is part of the triangle is 4 ft.

The measurement is still the same for the triangle's height.

Find the area of the rectangle:
24 x 16 = 384
Find the area of the triangle:
4 x 24 = 96

Add the two numbers together:

384 + 96 = 480

You're answer is (C)

hope this helps

Hello!

The formula for a trapezoid is A=0.5h(a+b) where a and b represent the two bases. If you look at the trapezoid sideways you see two bases, 20 and 16, and a height of 24. We will plug this into the equation.

A=0.5(24)(20+16)
A=12(36)
A=432 ft²

I hope this helps!

Consider the equation 4x−2=−2(ax+3), with constant a. Which of the following statements is true about the solution to the equati
Doss [256]

Answer:

If a= − 2, then there is no solution.

Step-by-step explanation:

4x−2=−2(ax+3)

2) a=0 one solution

4x - 2 = - 2(0x + 3)

4x - 2 = -6

4x = - 4

x = -1

1) a =2 one solution

4x−2=−2(2x+3)

4x - 2 = - 4x -6

8x = -4

x = - 1/2

3) a = -2   no solution

4x−2=−2(-2x+3)

4x - 2 = 4x - 6

4x-4x= - 6+2

0 = - 4 , wrong, so no solution

(15pts) What are the ordered pairs of the solutions for this system of equations?
VashaNatasha [74]

Answer:

  • (2, 3)
  • (-2, 11)

Step-by-step explanation:

Equating the system :

  • x² - 2x + 3 = -2x + 7
  • x² - 2x + 2x + 3 - 7 = 0
  • x² - 4 = 0
  • (x + 2)(x - 2) = 0

When x = 2,

  • f(2) = -2(2) + 7
  • f(2) = 7 - 4
  • f(2) = 3
  • Ordered pair is (2, 3)

When x = -2,

  • f(-2) = -2(-2) + 7
  • f(-2) = 4 + 7
  • f(-2) = 11
  • Ordered pair is (-2, 11)
