If a person has too much calcium ion in their blood, the gland that is most likely working incorrectly would be the parathyroid gland. This gland is located at the neck at the back of the thyroid gland. It is responsible for the regulation of calcium ions in our bodies - amount of calcium in the bones and in the blood. Calcium is a very essential element in the body which is used in several control systems in the body so the amount of this element should be regulated well and this is done by the parathyroid glands. They measure the amount of calcium in the body every minute. When these glands does not function properly, then the calcium in the body would not be regulated and might cause complications.

Biuret test:

 • A positive result indicates proteins.
 • A positive result is violet.

Sudan 4 test:

 • A positive result indicates lipids.
 • Positive result forms red droplets.

What are the effect of the test?

When carbohydrate solution is heated with Benedict's reagent, the reducing sugars will reduce the copper ions to orange in color.

The diagram shows a type of lipid.
Ket [755]

Answer:

E

Explanation

The structure of saturated fats are not flexible unlike unsaturated fats. ALso in the diagram, there are no double bonds which are present in unsaturated lipids, eliminating A and B. Triglycerides have 3 fatty acids shown with 3 carbons that are connected with long bonds unlike phospholipids that has 2 fatty acids. Therefore the answer is E.
