Answer:

1. Equilibrium

2. Amplitude

3. Wavelength

4. Trough

5. Crest

6. Wavelength

7. Trough

8. Crest

Explanation:

Waves are the periodic disturbances in any medium. The common examples of waves are sound waves and water waves. In this figure, the several parts of waves have been described. Here, I will explain them one by one.

1. Consider a normal line, which we will take as a reference. We call it Equilibrium.

2. The vertical distance from Equilibrium to the highest or lowest point (also called peak points) of wave is called Amplitude.

3. The distance between two corresponding peak points is called Wavelength.

4. The lower part of the wave, which is below the equilibrium is called Trough.

5. The upper part of wave, which is above the equilibrium is called Crest.

6. Wavelength: As Explained in point 3

7. Trough: As Explained in point 4.

8. Crest: As Explained in point 5.

-What can you say about the snowboarder’s kinetic energy as he moves?
Damm [24]

Answer:

  His kinetic energy increases, potential energy decreases

  The sum of kinetic and potential energy is a constant at any instant before he comes to rest.

Explanation:

  Snowboarder is starting from a height and moving to the down direction. As he moves down his velocity increases, we know that kinetic energy is given by the expression \frac{1}{2} mv^2, so as he moves his kinetic energy increases.

  When the snowboarder is starting his potential energy is maximum(Potential energy = mgh), as he comes down his potential energy decreases.

  Based on this we can conclude that the sum of potential energy and kinetic energy is a constant at any instant for a snowboarder before he comes to rest.

                             mgh+\frac{1}{2} mv^2= Constant

A Chinook salmon can jump out of water with a speed of 6.70 m/s6.70 m/s . How far horizontally dd can a Chinook salmon travel th
aksik [14]

Answer:

R = 3.88 m

Explanation:

As the Chinook salmon leaves the water till it gets back into the water it is performing a projectile motion with the following parameters:

V₀ = Launch Speed = 6.7 m/s

θ = Launch Angle = 29°

R= Range of Projectile= Horizontal Distance Covered by Chinook salmon= ?

The value of the range of a projectile is given by the following formula:

R = (V₀² Sin 2θ)/g

R = [(6.7 m/s)² Sin {(2)(29°)}/(9.8 m/s²)]

R = [(6.7 m/s)² Sin (58°)/(9.8 m/s²)]

R = 3.88 m
