Easy English question. Is civilization better or worse for Huck and Jim than the wildness of the river? Please explain your answ
Eddi Din [679]

Huck and Jim were happy as the civilization was worse for them to live in/survive than the wildness of the river. As they both want freedom Jim from slavery and Huck from the society and civilized world.

It is so because it was the civilized world that gave Huck grief, but found himself happy, free, comfortable, and satisfied when he was alone and down to the riverside.

Huck and Jim see nature as the best way to leave society and civilization and his journey down the river confirms this view of nature in the novel. They float down the river they contemplate the sights surrounding the river bank.

What is the connotative meaning of this line from Kurt Vonnegut's "Report on the Barnhouse Effect"?
alukav5142 [94]
When you think about Thanksgiving cooking, typically you think of a rush to get everything done and to put all of the food onto the table so that everyone can eat. There is a tone of rushing and impatience being conveyed. Therefore, I would say that 4 is the most suitable answer. General Barker is clearly in a hurry and is under some stress. I hope this helps.

How effective is the use of rhetorical devices such as hypophora, parallelism, or repetition in “Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Dea
Elenna [48]
It is effective in that the rhetorical devices emphasise the message the author is trying to send:

- hypophora this is the exclamation and tone that the message sends forth

- parallelism is the comparison that the author makes between liberty or death, the author is declaring that life and liberty are one or the other

- repetition is the authors use of Give me which suggest that the author is in some way speaking to someone asking them to make a decision, likely someone with power

Discuss what affects your food choices more: you own taste or what foods
Setler [38]
I think my taste affect my food choices more. I don’t really like eating vegetables so it would definitely be that. I think once in a while I make good food choices by adding more vegetables to my plate. Or by drinking water instead of anything sweet.
