Marbles in a bag: 3 green, 4 yellow, 5 blue, 8 pink.

Event A - get a green or yellow marble
Event B - get a pink marble

Events A and B are independent because we draw a marble from a bag with 20 marbles in both cases.
P(A)= \frac{3+4}{3+4+5+8}= \frac{7}{20}
\\P(B)= \frac{8}{3+4+5+8}= \frac{8}{20} = \frac{2}{5}

Probability of combined events is
P(A) \times P(B)=\frac{7}{20} \times \frac{2}{5} =\frac{7}{50}

The question.
Tanya [424]
The solution to this problem can be found by taking 20% of $62.50:

0.2(62.5) = 12.5

The way the question is worded is confusing, but I think it's asking how much of a discount you would get.  You would receive a $12.50 discount.

Two planes intersect in exactly one point
adell [148]

Answer:

If two planes intersect, then their intersection is a line. A line contains at least two points. If two lines intersect, then exactly one plane contains both lines. If a point lies outside a line, then exactly one plane contains both the line and the point.
