It'll never happen unless they are running on a globe. You could have those two running forever in a straight line and the cheetah will always be ahead of the lion. The longer they go, the more the distance between them.

The track for the lion would have to be 71 meters so they both could finish at the same time. I did this by dividing 100 by 70 and multiplying that answer by 50

If 8 cakes cost £4.00 how much would 3 cakes cost?
zzz [600]
Hello!

To calculate how much 3 cakes would cost, we must first find the cost of each individual cake.

To do this, we must divide the cost of 8 cakes by 8 cakes.

4.00 ÷ 8 = 0.5

This means that each individual cake costs $0.50. Multiply this by 3 to find the cost of 3 cakes.

0.50 × 3 = 1.50

Therefore, 3 cakes would cost $1.50.

Write a quadratic function to model the graph to the right.
liq [111]

Answer:

f(x) = (x - 2)² + 2

Step-by-step explanation:

The vertex form of the quadratic function is:

f(x) = a(x - h)² + k

where:

(h, k) = vertex

The axis of symmetry is the imaginary vertical line where x = h

<em>a</em> = determines whether the graph opens up or down, and how wide or narrow the graph will be.

<em>h</em> = determines the horizontal translation of the parabola.

<em>k</em> = determines the vertical translation of the graph.

Given the vertex occurring at point (2, 2), along with one of the points on the graph, (4, 6):

Substitute these values into the vertex form of the quadratic function:

f(x) = a(x - h)² + k

6 = a(4 - 2)² + 2

6 = a(2)² + 2

6 = 4a + 2

Subtract 2 from both sides:

6 - 2 = 4a + 2 - 2

4 = 4a

Divide both sides by 4:

4/4 = 4a/4

1 = a

Therefore, the quadratic function in vertex form is: f(x) = (x - 2)² + 2
