solution:

If U=W-(54.5/6) then W=U+(54.5/6).

Assuming a one-for-one transformation, the mean for W is found by adding all the W data together then dividing by 79.

That is, Wbar=(w1+w2+w3+...+w79)/79.

But w1=u1+54.5/6, w2=u2+54.5/6, etc.

So Wbar=(u1+u2+...+u79)/79+(79×54.5/6)/79=Ubar+54.5/6=6.8+54.5/6=15.8833 approx.

The variance is unaffected by the transformation since variance is simply the spread of the data which doesn’t change.

Wbar=Ubar=1.8.

Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

Option d) 840

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that a test to measure psychotic tendencies was given to a group of 1,000 air force cadets who wished to work in nuclear silos.

If Score ≥64 would be eliminated.

X is N(52, 12)

Probability for any random person to get eliminated

=P(X\geq 64)\\= 1-R(64)\\=1-0.8413\\= 0.1587

Now coming to sample size of 1000 people, we find each person is independent of the other and there are two outcomes either >64 or < 64

So Y no of persons who get more than 64 is binomial with n =1000 and p = 0.1587

Mean of Y = E(Y)

= no of people who were not accepted =1000(0.1587) = 158.7

No of people accepted = 1000-158.7 = 841.3\\=841

Approximately we get 840 so option d

A village P is 10km from a lorry station,Q on a bearing 065°.another village R is 8km from Q on a bearing 155°.calculate;1.the d
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

find the difference between the two angles first:

155-65=90 degrees

d is the distance d:

d^2=a^2+b^2-2ab cos(90)

d^2=10^2+8^2-2(10)(8)cos(90)

d^2=164

d=√164=12.81

the bearing of R from P to the nearest degree:

180-155=35 degrees
