Try to get all the c values and number values into groups by themselves and solve for c.

With an equation that has an equal sign on both sides, whatever you do to one side, you have to do to another in order to keep both sides equal to each other.

1. Add like values

6c + 14 -9 = -5c + 4 + 9c becomes:
6c+5= 4 + 4c

2. Subtract both sides by 4c

6c+5-4c= 4+4c-4c becomes:
2c+5=4

3. subtract both sides by 5
6c+5-5=4-5 becomes:
6c= -1

4. Divide both sides by 6
6/6c=-1/6 becomes:
c=1/6

Remember 6/6 is just another way of saying "1"

Hope this helps :)

what you would do in this situation is first, add like terms. but remember that we are trying to get the c's on one side, and the regular numbers on the other. so, 6c+5c-9c. i got this because i am moving all of the c's to the left side of the equal sign, but to be able to do this we have to change the signs in front of the ones we are moving, the same rule applies to when we move the regular numbers, too. so, 6c+5c-9c= 2c. so now, we have what goes on the left side of the equal sign (2c) now, we have to figure out what goes on the right side of the equal sign. 4-14= -10. so now, we have 2c=-10 we now have to divide -10 by 2 to get rid of the 2 with the c. we get c=-5 as our final answer.

U have to use Pythagoras theorem to solve this.. (adjacent)^2+(opposite)^2=hypotenuse^2
looking at the question,
the hypotenuse =15ft
opposite =12ft
adjacent =???
adjacent^2+(12)^2=15^2
a^2+144=225
group like terms
a^2=225-144
a^2=81
introduce square root to both side
root a^2=root81
a=9ft
therefore, the answer is 9ft.

Jimmy and his family  are  on their way to visit some family friends who live
Musya8 [376]
Hello!!!!

If they drive an average of 60 miles per hour the last day it will take them 2.5 hours.
4 hours at 60 miles per hour = 4*60 = 240 miles6 hours at 65 miles per hour = 6*65 = 390 miles
This is a total of 630 miles.  There are 780-630=150 miles left; if they average 60 miles per hour, that would be 150/60 = 2.5 hours.
Hope this helps!
