Remember to follow the FOIL method (First, Outside, Inside, Last)

(5r)(3r) = 15r²

(5r)(-4) = -20r

(2)(3r) = 6r

(2)(-4) = -8

Simplify. Combine like terms

15r² -20r +6r -8

15r² (-20r + 6r) - 8

15r² - 14r - 8 is your answer

hope this helps

(5r + 2)(3r - 4)

15r^2 - 20r + 6r - 8

15r^2 - 14r - 8

hope this will help you buddy

how can you fluently add, subtract, mulitply, and divide decimals? how can you multiply and divide fractions?
Natasha2012 [34]

Answer/Step-by-step explanation:

How can you fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals?

To add or subtract decimals:

1.Write the numbers vertically with the decimals lined up (if the number is a whole number then the decimal goes on the right end of the number)

2.Add zeros to make sure there are the same number of digits in each number.

3.Add or subtract as normal.

How can you multiply and divide fractions?

Dividing two fractions is the same as multiplying the first fraction by the reciprocal of the second fraction. The first step to dividing fractions is to find the reciprocal (reverse the numerator and denominator) of the second fraction. Next, multiply the two numerators. Then, multiply the two denominators.

Hope this help :3

F(x)=x 3−9xf, left parenthesis, x, right parenthesis, equals, x, cubed, minus, 9, x What is the average rate of change of f over
mel-nik [20]

Answer:

A(x) = 243

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

f(x) = x^3 - 9x

Interval: (12,6)

Required

Determine the average rate of change

Average rate is calculated as thus;

A(x) = \frac{f(b) - f(a)}{b - a}

In this case; b = 12 and a = 6

Calculating f(12)

f(12) = 12^3 - 9 * 12

f(12) = 1728 - 108

f(12) = 1620

Calculating f(6)

f(6) = 6^3 - 9 * 6

f(6) = 216 - 54

f(6) = 162

Substitute 12 for b and 6 for a in A(x) = \frac{f(b) - f(a)}{b - a}

A(x) = \frac{f(12) - f(6)}{12 - 6}

Substitute values for f(6) and f(12)

A(x) = \frac{1620 - 162}{12 - 6}

A(x) = \frac{1458}{ 6}

A(x) = 243

An arena that hosts sporting events and concerts has three sections for 3 levels of seating. For a basketball game seats in Sect
Usimov [2.4K]

Answer:

There are 1000 seats in Section A, 5000 seats in section B and 6000 seats in Section C.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of seats in Section A=x

Let the number of seats in Section B=y

Let the number of seats in Section C=z

The number of seats in section C equals the number of seats in sections A and B combined.

z=x+y......(I)

The arena holds 12,000.

x+y+z=12000......(II)

For a basketball game seats in Section A cost $100, seats in section B cost $50 and seats in section C cost $35.

Total revenue from ticket sales is $560,000

100x+50y+35z=560000.....(III)

The system of equation is given as:

z=x+y......(I)

x+y+z=12000......(II)

100x+50y+35z=560000.....(III)

Substitute z=x+y From (I) into Equation (II)

x+y+x+y=12000

2x+2y=12000

x+y=6000......(IV)

Substitute z=x+y From (I) into (III).

100x+50y+35(x+y)=560000

100x+35x+50y+35y=560000

135x+85y=560000.....(V)

From (IV), x=6000-y

135(6000-y)+85y=560000

810000-135y+85y=560000

50y=250000

y=5000

Recall From (IV), x=6000-y

x= 6000-5000=1000

From (I)

z=x+y=1000+5000=6000

There are 1000 seats in Section A, 5000 seats in section B and 6000 seats in Section C.
