DNA helicase - unwinds and separates double stranded DNA as it moves along the DNA. It forms the replication fork by breaking hydrogen bonds between nucleotide pairs in DNA.

DNA primase - a type of RNA polymerase that generates RNA primers. Primers are short RNA molecules that act as templates for the starting point of DNA replication.

DNA polymerases - synthesize new DNA molecules by adding nucleotides to leading and lagging DNA strands.

Topoisomerase or DNA Gyrase - unwinds and rewinds DNA strands to prevent the DNA from becoming tangled or supercoiled.

Exonucleases - group of enzymes that remove nucleotide bases from the end of a DNA chain.

DNA ligase - joins DNA fragments together by forming phosphodiester bonds between nucleotides.

Elizabeth is conducting an investigation to study how molecules are transported into and out of a cell. Elizabeth builds a model
k0ka [10]

The given question is incomplete, the complete question is:

Elizabeth is conducting an investigation to study how molecules are transported into and out of a cell. Elizabeth builds a model of a cell using a U-shaped tube. A barrier, which is permeable to water, but not sugar, is placed on the bottom of the tube to model the cell membrane. Elizabeth adds two different solutions to each side of the tube. The solute in each solution is sugar and the solvent is water. The initial levels of solution in Side A and Side B are equal. The concentration of sugar in Side A is lower than the concentration of sugar in Side B.

What is Elizabeth likely to observe?

A. Water molecules will move from Side A to Side B. The solution level on Side A will fall and the solution level on Side B will rise.

B. Water molecules will move from Side B to Side A. The solution level on Side A will rise and the solution level on Side B will fall.

C. Sugar molecules will move from Side A to Side B. The solution level on Side A will fall and the solution level on Side B will rise.

D. Sugar molecules will move from Side B to Side A. The solution level on Side A will rise and the solution level on Side B will fall.

Answer:

The correct answer is statement B, that is, the molecules of water will move from side A to side B. The level of solution on the side A will fall and the level of solution on the side will elevate.

Explanation:

Based on the given information, it is clear that the barrier is only permeable to water, thus, movement of water will take place through osmosis down the gradient, that is, from lower to the region of higher solute concentration. The water seems to equalize the concentrations of solute present on side A with the concentrations of solute present on side B.

Osmosis refers to a phenomenon in which the molecules of solvent seem to pass via a semipermeable membrane from the area of less concentration to the area of higher concentration, therefore, equating the concentrations on both sides of the membrane.

Humans have __ chromosomes in the nucleus of every cell in our bodys
Nata [24]

Explanation:

In humans, each cell normally contains 23 pairs of chromosomes, for a total of 46. Twenty-two of these pairs, called autosomes, look the same in both males and females. The 23rd pair, the sex chromosomes, differ between males and females.

The soil has certain microbes that interact with the roots of plants in a symbiotic relationship. Which organism is harmed from
Licemer1 [7]

Answer:

No organisms

Explanation:

This is because the kind of symbiotic relationship between plants root and microbes is mutualism. In this relationship both organism s benefit and non is harmed. The microbes make nutrients available for the root, it increase root permeability and also root metabolism while the roots provide home for the microbes and Al's derives food.

Which description of bone cells is INCORRECT? a. Osteogenic cells can differentiate into osteoclasts. b. Osteoblasts secrete col
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

a. Osteogenic cells can differentiate into osteoclasts

Explanation:

Osteoblasts are the cells that are formed from osteogenic cells. The osteogenic cells enter the process of bone formation. There is a secretion of organic compounds and salts to form osteoblast. Osteoclasts are the very large cells that are formed when many monocytes fuse together and are concentrated in endosteum. Osteoclasts are the cells responsible for bone resorption.
