No, because the fraction is actually equal to a whole number. So it would be increased.

Answer:

Elias is not correct. The new rectangle will be an enlargement because the scale factor is greater than 1. To be a reduction, the scale factor must be between 0 and 1.

Y=6x 2x+3y=-20. (Solving by substitution)
almond37 [142]
Y=6x, 2x+3y=-20
Substitution means just plugging in another equation equal to a single variable in order to solve for the other variable, and then the first. In this case, the equation being plugged in is y=6x, so 6x will be put in place of y in the equation 2x+3y=-20.
2x+3(6x)=-20
2x+18x=-20
20x=-20
x=-1
And then x=-1 can be plugged into the original equation to find y. (And, if you wish, into the y= equation to check it.)
2(-1)+3y=-20
-2+3y=-20
3y=-20+2
3y=-18
y=-6
And to check it, we plug the two into the original y= equation.
y=6x
-6=6(-1)
-6=-6
They are equal, so both check out.
x=-1, y=-6

Can the following points be on the graph of the equation x-y = 0? Explain
MaRussiya [10]
Hi there! I don’t see any answer choices listed, however this function takes place in the First and Third quadrants of an xy plane. This means that the values will either be at the origin (0,0) or equal numbers with the same sign. For example, (2,2), (-8,-8), and (1.38,1.38) would all be possible points. When looking at points that are given, plug x and y into your equation and see if they give the right answer. If you come across a value with different signs, such as (-4,4) or (9.3,-9.3), that will be excluded from the equation or line on a graph. PS. x-y=0 simplifies to x=y, which might make it a bit easier to look at, and on a graph y=x is simply a diagonal line across quadrants I and III. Let me know if you need any extra help!

Sydney read 50 pages in 40 minutes. She reads at a constant rate.How many pages can Sydney read per minute?
7nadin3 [17]

Here we are given how much work is done in a fix time interval

then they ask to find the rate of doing the work .

in such problem we can find the rate of doing a work by using the formula :

amount of work done

--------------------------------------------------- = work done in unit time

Time taken to do that amount of work

In 40 minutes number of pages she reads = 50

In 1 minutes number of pages she would be reading = 50 /40

= 5/4 page

Answer 5/4 page .
