To solve for y, isolate the variable to one side.
 9x+3y=4
-9x      -9x
~~~~~~~~
3y= -9x+4
~~~~~~~~
3y= -9x+4 (Divide both sides by 3)

y=-3x+4

Determine the roots of f(x) = -12-2.1x+18x^2-2.75x^3 graphically. in addition, determine the first root of the function with
vesna_86 [32]

The given function is that is a cubic polynomial

f(x)=-12-2.1x+18x^2-2.75x^3

when arranged in descending order that is from highest degree to lowest degree

f(x)=-2.75x^3+18x^2-2.1x-12

Since it is a three degree polynomial it has three roots.

According to rational root theorem , the possible roots of the above expression that is factors of  \frac{12}{2.75}=\frac{48}{11}  are \pm1, \pm 2, \pm 3, \pm 4, \pm 6, \pm 8, \pm 12, \pm 24, \pm 48, \pm\frac{1}{11}, \pm\frac{2}{11}, \pm\frac{3}{11}\pm\frac{4}{11}\pm\frac{6}{11},\pm\frac{8}{11},\pm\frac{12}{11}, \pm\frac{24}{11},\pm\frac{48}{11}

As you can see from the graph all roots of this polynomial are real.

The smallest positive root is 0.954 and smallest negative root are -0.724.

A large explosion causes wood and metal debris to rise vertically into the air with an initial velocity of 96 feet per second. T
Vladimir [108]

Answer:

the height after 2 seconds will be 128 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

Data provided in the question:

Initial velocity = 96 feet per second

The function of height of falling debris above the ground is given as:

h(t) = 96t - 16t²

A) To find height after time t = 2 seconds

substituting the value of time in the above function, we get

h(t) = 96 × 2 - 16 × 2²

or

h(t) = 192 - 16 × 4

or

h(t) = 192 - 64

or

h(t) = 128 feet

Hence,

the height after 2 seconds will be 128 feet

2. What is the value of x if the angles<br> within a triangle are 2x +1, 7x-2 and 3x<br> +5?
noname [10]

Answer:

 x=14.67\\°

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of all the three angles of any triangle is 180°

Putting sum of all the angles given equals to 180°

                      (2x+1)+(7x-2)+(3x+5)=180°

                              2x+7x+3x+1-2+5=180°

                                                         12x+4=180°

                                                                   x=\frac{180-4}{12}

                                                                   x=14.67\\°

The value of the x is found on solving the given angles of the triangles.
