To determine the maxima and minima of the polynomial, differentiate the given based on x and equate to 0.
                                   C(x) = 400x - 0.2x²
                               dC(x) / dt = 400 - 0.4 x = 0
The value of x is 1000. This is the value of the maxima. As the value of C(x) continously becomes lesser as the value of x is set higher, the minima is not identified. Substitute x to the original equation,
                               C(x) = (400)(1000) - 0.2(1000²) = $ 200,000
Thus, the answer is letter B.

The correct answer to this question is letter "<span>B. One thousand units have the maximum cost of $200,000."

C(x) = 400 - 0.2x^2
0 = 400 - 0.2^2
0.2x^2 = 400
x^2 = 2000

</span><span> dC(x) / dt = 400 - 0.4 x = 0 </span><span>

</span>C(x) = (400)(1000) - 0.2(1000²) = $ 200,000

Is height over time that a football is thrown across the field an exponential function
xxTIMURxx [149]
No if it was, the football would keep going up forever and keep going up faster as it was released
physics and common sense tells us that there is air resistance to slow the rise of the football

not exponential

A person drinks 1 pint of milk a day. At this rate how many gallons will a person drink in a leap year (366 days)?
Diano4ka-milaya [45]
OK. SO first you need to know how many pints are in a gallon.  ( one gallon = 8 quarts )

One day = one pint. So we want to find what 366 days equals. 1*366=366 pints in 366 days. We now have 366 pints. We need to convert that to gallons. One gallon equals 8 quarts, so we divide 366 by 8. 366/8= 45.75

So in one leap year a person drinks 45.75 gallons of milk

If that doesn't make sense, ask and i can re explain. Hope that helped! <span />
