<span>First, Gatsby shares an excessive amount of information about his background. Second, he won't stop mentioning that he went to Oxford, as if he is either insecure or wants Nick to believe him. Lastly, he mentions that he's from the Midwest as more of a surprising fact, but also has his war medal with him, which seems odd.</span>
