Felicia wants to build a kite with the shape shown. If AC is 60 cm, how many centimeters are in the length of BD?
Kay [80]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

By applying tangent rule in the given right triangle AOB,

tan(30°) = \frac{\text{Opposite side}}{\text{Adjacent side}}

\frac{1}{\sqrt{3}}=\frac{BO}{OA}

OA=BO(\sqrt{3})

By applying tangent rule in the given right triangle BOC,

tan(60°) = \frac{OC}{BO}

OC = BO(√3)

OA + OC = AC

BO(\sqrt{3})+BO(\sqrt{3}) =60

2√3(BO) = 60

BO = 10√3

OC = BO(√3)

OC = (10√3)(√3)

OC = 30

By applying tangent rule in right triangle DOC,

tan(60°) = \frac{OD}{OC}

OD = OC(√3)

OD = 30√3

Since, BD = BO + OD

BD = 10√3 + 30√3

BD = 40√3

      ≈ 69.3

a swimming pool 25m by 10m has a concrete border all round. Find the area of the concrete border if it is 2.5m wide at the sides
Ksju [112]
So from what I understand, you would multiply 10m by 5m for the width to get 50m squared, and multiply the 50 by 2 to get 100m for both sides of the width for the pool. Next the length. Multiply 25m by 2.5m to get 62.5m squared. Once again, mutiply it by 2 for both side lengths of the pool to get 125m. Last, add 125m and 100m to get 225m for the concrete border of the pool.

Need help figuring out this answer.
zmey [24]

Answer:

Volume = 184.8 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of pyramid=\frac{Area of the base*height}{3}

Area = 44 cm²

Height = 12.6 cm

Put values

Volume of pyramid=\frac{44*12.6}{3}

  = \frac{554.4}{3}

  = 184.8cm³
