So first we have to convert inches to centimeters. There are 2.54 centimeters in an inch. So you would multiply 500x2.54 which will equal 1270 centimeters. Now we know that the town receives 1270 centimeters of rainfall per year. To know how many the town gets in one day divide 1270 by 365 for the number of days in a year . The answer is approximately 3.479 (estimate according to the directions) centimeters per day.

The price of a pair of jeans was $60 after a 50% markup. What was the price of the jeans before the markup?
zhenek [66]

Answer:

40

Step-by-step explanation:

We have an original price p

We mark them up by 50%

p + p*50%

Changing to decimal form

p+.50p = 1.5p

The new price is 60 dollars

1.5p = 60

Divide each side by 1.5

1.5p/1.5 = 60/1.5

p =40

The original price is 40
