Given :Price of sweatshirt is $24.

Discount is 20%

Discount given of shirt is 20% of $24=.20(24)=4.8

Discounted price of shirt = 24-4.8= 19.2

Sales tax of 7% is added to the discounted price.

Sales tax on the discounted price is 7% of $19.2 =.07(19.2)=1.344

final Price of sweat shirt= discounted price + sales tax =19.2+1.344=20.54

Option D.$20.54 is the right answer.

Marrrta [24]
The maximum number of shirts I can buy is 2.

14.50 x 2  = 29
14.50 x 3 = 43.5

Two shirts cost 29 dollars, and 3 shirts cost 43.5 dollars. Since $43.5 is higher than the money I currently have, I  can only buy 2 shirts.

The height h (in feet) above the water of a cliff diver is modeled by h=-16t^2+8t+80, where t is the time (in seconds). How long
Misha Larkins [42]
If this is algebra, then you will be using a parabola to solve this problem:
t=-b/2a
t=-8/2(-16) = 8/-32 = -1/4
t=-1/4=-0.25
h=-16(0.0625)+8(-0.25)+80
h=1-2+80
h=79
(-0.25,79)
then plug this ordered pair above and draw a line directly down the middle of it to use as a "mirror" and plug 2 different numbers(preferably 0 and 1) into the variable t to find the other two points and then reflect the two points over the "mirror" to get the last two points to graph your paprabola

Light travels about 3 x 10^5 metres per second. Find the time it takes to travel 1 metre. Give your answer in standard form.
Anna71 [15]

Answer:

t=3.3*10^{-6}

Step-by-step explanation:

t=\frac{S}{v}

As

S=1m

v=3*10^{5}ms^-1

t=\frac{1}{3*10^{5} }

t=3.3*10^{-6}

x^2-16x+64=0

Method 1.

Use (a-b)^2=a^2-2ab+b^2

x^2-2\cdot x\cdot8+8^2=0\\\\(x-8)^2=0\\\\(x-8)(x-8)=0

Method 2.

x^2-8x-8x+64=0\\\\x(x-8)-8(x-8)=0\\\\(x-8)(x-8)=0

The solution to this equation is the number 8
