Use a Venn diagram to answer the question. A survey of 180 families showed that 67 had a dog; 52 had a cat; 22 had a dog and a

 cat; 70 had neither a cat nor a dog, and in addition did not have a parakeet; 4 had a cat, a dog, and a parakeet. How many had a parakeet only?

Answer:

There are 13 families had a parakeet only

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets explain the problem

- There are 180 families

- 67 families had a dog

- 52 families had a cat

- 22 families had a dog and a cat

- 70 had neither a cat nor a dog, and in addition did not have a

parakeet

- 4 had a cat, a dog, and a parakeet (4 is a part of 22 and 22 is a part

of 67 and 520

* We will explain the Venn-diagram

- A rectangle represent the total of the families

- Three intersected circles:

C represented the cat

D represented the dog

P represented the parakeet

- The common part of the three circle had 4 families

- The common part between the circle of the cat and the circle of the

dog only had 22 - 4 = 18 families

- The common part between the circle of the dog and the circle of the

parakeet only had a families

- The common part between the circle of the cat and the circle of the

parakeet only had b families

- The non-intersected part of the circle of the dog had 67 - 22 - a =

 45 - a families

 had dogs only

- The non-intersected part of the circle of the cat had 52 - 22 - b =

 30 - b families

 had cats only

- The non-intersected part of the circle of the parakeet had c families

 had parakeets only

- The part out side the circles and inside the triangle has 70 families

- Look to the attached graph for more under stand

∵ The total of the families is 180

∴ The sum of all steps above is 180

∴ 45 - a + 18 + 4 + 30 - b + b + c + a + 70 = 180 ⇒ simplify

- (-a) will cancel (a) and (-b) will cancel (b)

∴ (45 + 18 + 4 + 30 + 70) + (-a + a) + (-b + b) + c = 180

∴ 167 + c = 180 ⇒ subtract 167 from both sides

∴ c = 180 - 167 = 13 families

* There are 13 families had a parakeet only

A study was conducted to compare the proportion of drivers in Boston and New York who wore seat belts while driving. Data were c
In-s [12.5K]

(A.)test statistic for this test using Ha: p8くPN is Z = -2.164 (B.) p-value (3 decimal places) is 0.015. (C.) Based on this p-value, which of the following would you expect for a 95% is negative. (D.) the correct conclusion is The proportion of Boston drivers wearing seat was significantly lower than the proportion of new York drivers wearing seat belts.

A.)

According to given data find the test statistic for this test using Ha:

p1 = 0.581

p2 = 0.832

standard error = SE = 0.116

Test statistics :-

Z = \frac{p1 - p2}{SE}

Z = \frac{0.581 - 0.832}{0.116} = -2.164

Z = -2.164

B.)

According to given Determine the p-value (3 decimal places).

p - value

it is left tailed test.

p - value for left tailed test is,

p - value = P(Z < test statistics )

p - value = P(Z < -2.164)

P - value = 0.015

C.)

Based on this p-value, which of the following would you expect for a 95%

confidence level = 95% = 0.95

significance level = α = 0.05

P -value is less than 0.05

so, reject null hypothesis at α = 0.05

That is P_{B} < P_{NY}

so, based on P - value , All values in the 95% confidence interval

PB - PNY is negative.

D.)

According to given data What is the correct conclusion?

Reject null hypothesis at α = 0.05

so, P_{B} < P_{NY}

Hence, The proportion of Boston drivers wearing seat was significantly lower than the proportion of new York drivers wearing seat belts.

3t-s/4=8s what is s in terms of t?
ololo11 [35]

Answer:

s = 12t/33

Step-by-step explanation:

multiply through by 4 In order to remove the denominator from the equation

12t - s = 32s

making s the subject

32s + s = 12t

33s = 12t

s = 12t/33
