I'm guessing thet the shaded region is the outer ring.

This has area pi * 11^2 - pi * 4^2

= pi (121-16) = 105 pi  or 330 to nearest whole number.

If you get the area of the larger circle containing the smaller one, its area includes the smaller's circle's area.

now, if you get the area of the smaller circle and subtract it from the area of the larger circle, you're in effect making a hole in the larger circle, and what's leftover, their difference, is the are not occupied by the smaller circle, since the smaller circle's area subtraction made a hole anyway.

\bf \textit{area of a circle}\\\\
A=\pi r^2\qquad r=radius
\\\\\\
\stackrel{\textit{larger circle}}{A}=11^2\pi \implies \stackrel{\textit{larger circle}}{A}=121\pi
\\\\\\
\stackrel{\textit{smaller circle}}{A}=4^2\pi \implies \stackrel{\textit{smaller circle}}{A}=16\pi
\\\\\\
\stackrel{shaded~region}{A}=\stackrel{\textit{larger circle}}{A}-\stackrel{\textit{smaller circle}}{A}\implies \stackrel{shaded~region}{A}=121\pi -16\pi
\\\\\\
\stackrel{shaded~region}{A}=105\pi

7x + 2y = 4
Vinil7 [7]

7x + 2(x + 1) = 4 \\ 7x + 2x + 2 = 4 \\ 9x  + 2 = 4 \\ 9x = 2 \\ x =  \frac{2}{9}  \\  \\ y =  \frac{2}{9}  + 1 =  \frac{11}{9}  \\ ( \frac{2}{9}  \:  \frac{11}{9} )

Find all ratios that are equivalent to 4 : 6 and have a first term that is less than 40.
kherson [118]

Answer:

2: 3, 4: 6, 6: 9, 8: 12 , 10: 15, 12: 18, 14: 21, 16: 24, 18: 27, 20: 30, 22: 33, 24:36, 26: 39, 28: 42, 30: 45, 32: 48, 34: 51, 36: 54, 38: 57

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio 4: 6 can be simplified to 2:3 by dividing by 2 to each side of the ratio. After simplified to 2:3, you add the ration to itself to get the rest of the terms.

Graph Ex+ 3y = 24<br> a.<br> b.<br> c.<br> d.
8090 [49]

Answer:

(b)

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

8x + 3y = 24

Required

The graph

First, make y the subject

3y = 24 - 8x

Divide through by 3

y = 8 - \frac{8}{3}x

Let x = 3

y = 8 - \frac{8}{3}*3 = 8 - 8 = 0

Let x = 6

y = 8 - \frac{8}{3}*6 = 8 - 16 = -8

So, we plot the graph through

(3,0) and (6,-8)

The complement of an angle is one-sixth the measure of the supplement of the angle. What is the measure of the complement angle?
cestrela7 [59]

Answer:

The measure of the complement angle is 18\°

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x-----> the angle

we know that

The complement of an angle is equal to (90-x)\°

The supplement of an angle is equal to (180-x)\°

we have

The complement of an angle is one-sixth the measure of the supplement of the angle

(90-x)\°=(1/6)(180-x)\°

solve for x

(540-6x)\°=(180-x)\°

(6x-x)=(540-180)\°

(5x)=(360)\°

x=72\°

Find the measure of the complement angle

(90-x)\° ------> (90-72)=18\°
