Which statement is true about the graphs of the two lines y = x + 2 and y = x ? The lines are perpendicular to each other becaus

e and are opposite reciprocals of each other. The lines are perpendicular to each other because 2 and are opposite reciprocals of each other. The lines are neither parallel nor perpendicular to each other because and are not opposite reciprocals of each other. Answer: The answer is "the lines are parallel because both have same slope equal to 1"

Step-by-step explanation: The given equations are

y=x+2,\\\\y=2.

We are to find the relation between the above two lines.

We have

y=x+2\\\\\Rightarrow y=1\times x+2,

So the slope will be

m_1=1.

Also,

y=x\\\\\Rightarrow y=1\times x+0,

So the slope will be

m_2=1.

Therefore,

m_1=m_2, which implies that the slope of the two lines are equal.

Thus, the given lines are parallel because both have same slope.

The lines y=x+2 and y=x are parallel, because they have the same slope.

Answer:

They are parallel

Step-by-step explanation:

They both start with y=2/3x so you know the slope is the same. The +4 and -1 are just the intercepts

Suppose the spot rates for 1 and 2 years are s1=6.3% and s2=6.9% with annual compounding. Recall that in this course interest rates are always quoted on an annual basis unless otherwise specified. What is the discount rate d(0,2)? Please submit your answer rounded to three decimal places. So, for example, if your answer is 0:4567 then you should submit an answer of 0:457.

I don't understand this, can somebody please explain it to me?

Looking at the equation, you could see that it is in vertex form. Vertex form looks like this: y=a(x-h)^2+k where a is the slope to find the first point away from the origin and (h,k) is the vertex. So, the vertex is (3,-1). The first point away from the origin is up two, over one, so the slope is 2. This means that a is 2. One way you could check this is by putting 2 in for a. If you put it into standard form, it would be 2x^2-12x+17. To find the x in the vertex when the equation is in standard form we use -b/2a. So it would give us 3 for x. If we put in 3 for x, we get -1 for y, so the vertex is (3,-1). This means that a is 2. Sorry for this lengthy answer, hope it helps.
