Old Man De Lacy is a character from the story of Frankestein by Mary Shelley. He is a blind- peasant- man who lives in a cottage with his son and his daught.

With this information, it can be said that the options B and D are incorrect since as it was mentioned before, he used to live with his family, so he was not alone.

On the other hand,  it is illogical that the monster wanted to borrow the old man's guitar, so the A option is also incorrect.

Therefore, the correct answer is C, the old man was blind; nevertheless, it is important to take into account, that besides the old man was unable to see, he was a person who was full of love and charity, and he could deal with the monster's unhappiness.
