Each and every God on the roman side was a the same god whom the Greeks worshiped but they gave them more power and military symbol, they were also said to be more mature in their roman forms. Romans (and greeks alike) believed that to communicate with the gods they had to make sacrifices to them, this showed proper support to the god they prayed to.
