What sound device is used in this excerpt from "How the Animals Lost Their Tails and Got Them Back Traveling from Philadelphia t

o Medicine Hat"? There were sixty-six representatives on the committee and they decided to call it the Committee of Sixty-Six. It was a distinguished committee and when they all sat together holding their mouths under their noses and cleaning their ears and scratching themselves under the chin looking thoughtful (just like a distinguished committee) then anybody would say just to look at them, "This must be quite a distinguished committee."

The sound device used in this excerpt from "How the Animals Lost Their Tails and Got Them Back Traveling from Philadelphia to Medicine Hat"? is alliteration.

Alliteration is a literary device which is a repetition of the consonants in a row, sound stressing syllable of a phrase.

In the above instance, "There were sixty-six representatives on the committee and they decided to call it the Committee of Sixty-Six" uses the sound device alliteration which emphasizes the bold phrases.

kondaur [170]

Answer:

The answer is C

Explanation:

If someone were to go to hell, it would be hard for them to survive and they would look tired and tortured, from being in hell. So it would make the most sense that if a person described a person as someone who "looks as if he was dead and in hell now," that that person would look horrendous from living a hard life.

Hope you get this question correct. Have a great day! :)

What is Lincoln’s use of figurative language in the gettysburg address?
In-s [12.5K]

1. “The Gettysburg Address” by Abraham Lincoln is remarkable through the use of rhetorical devices like allusion, antithesis, and tricolon.

2.This is a simile because MLK Jr. is comparing Justice rolling down LIKE water. He is also comparing righteousness like a mighty stream.

The impact of figurative language is to show the idea that everyone should be free.

The figurative language gives visual picture on what desegregation would look like.

Figurative Language in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Speech

"Let Freedom Ring"

"Let freedom ring" is a repetition because "Let freedom ring" is repeated throughout the speech.

In Loving Memory:

This means that Justice will be like a mighty stream and will be everywhere.

"Let Freedom Ring" means let freedom be everywhere.
