Answer: Option D: x-axis symmetry

Step-by-step explanation:

The symmetry concept can be explained as below:

  1. If any point say, (x,y) on the graph, then (x,-y) is also on the graph, it shows x- axis symmetry.
  2. If any point say, (x,y) lies on the graph, then, (-x,y) should also lie on the same graph, then is shows y-axis symmetry.

Now, here the graph is for x = y^{2}-100  is attached.

Suppose, (x,y) = (-100,0)

then, solving this point satisfies the equation of given graph.

Also, (x,-y) = (-100,0) satisfies the equation of the given graph.

Hence, the relation x = y^2 – 100 is symmetrical to x-axis.

Jobisdone [24]

For this case we have:

Let:

x: number of points scored by Duncan

y: number of points scored by Eddie

We have:

y\geq27 +\frac{x}{2} (1)

y = 58 (2)

Substituting (2) in (1):

58\geq27+\frac{x}{2}

58-27\geq\frac{x}{2}

31\geq\frac{x}{2}

2*31\geqx\\62\geq x

Thus, Duncan could have scored a maximum of 62 points.

Answer:

x\leq62 points scored by Duncan.

xz_007 [3.2K]

Answer:

To make a profit of at least $500 she must sell at least 12 necklaces

Step-by-step explanation:

Joyce rented a booth at a carnival at a cost of $95 to sell handmade beaded necklaces. The cost of making and packaging each beaded necklace was $15. If Joyce sells the beaded necklaces at $35 each then we have to find beaded necklaces she sell to make a profit of at least $500.

The costs side of the equation, we have:

Let no. of necklaces that she sell are x

∴ The cost of making and packaging x beaded necklace is $15x

Total Cost = 95+15x

Now, Joyce sells the beaded necklaces at $35 each. Therefore, selling price will be $35x

To make a profit of at least $500 the equation can be written as

95+15x+500\leq35x

595\leq50x

⇒ x\geq11.9=12

Hence,  to make a profit of at least $500 she must sell at least 12 necklaces

Select the most important variables and expressions the park owners should consider as they decide whether to add another roller
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

The park owners should take into account the population of children in the community, if there are a good number of kids living in that area and the towns nearby - there would be a great demand for another roller coaster. They should consider the safety measures on the particular roller coaster they intend to add and check for the available space where they plan to fit the ride in the park.

Hope that answers the question, have a great day!
