All the sides are equal on a square so 5x = 10x-25 subtract 10x to get -5x = -25 and divide -5 and x = 5 and you plug it into 5x and you get 25.

suppose that y varies jointly with x and z. Find your when x=3 and z=5 , given that y=72 when x=6 and z=4
Hitman42 [59]
Y α xz

y = kxz             y = 72, when x = 6, and z = 4

72 = k*6*4

72 = k*24

24k = 72

k = 72/24

k = 3.

y = kxz

y = 3xz

Finding y, when x = 3, z = 5.

y = 3xz

y = 3*3*5

y = 45

What is the value of m in the equation 1/2m - 3\4n = 16 , when n = 8?
Rufina [12.5K]
1/2m -3/4n = 16

solve your system of equations.

n=8: (1/2)(m)+((−3)/4)(n)=16

Solve n=8 for n:

Substitute (8) for n in 1/2m+−3/4n=16:

1/2m+−3/4n=16

1/2m+−3/4(8)=16

1/2m−6=16(Simplify both sides of the equation)

1/2m−6+6=16+6(Add 6 to both sides)

1/2m=22

1/2m1/2 = 22 / 1/2(Divide both sides by 1/2)

m=44
