The Constitutional Principle of Separation of Powers was written by Charles-Louis de Secondat, Baron de La Brède et de Montesquieu, or simply referred to as  Montesquieu. He was a French lawyer and political philosopher during the Age of Enlightenment of the 18th century. His work has since been used by many constitutions in different countries.

These factors all allowed for Vladimir Lenin and the communist party to take overthrow the Russian government and create a new one based on communist principles.
