For years, schools have talked of making music and art after school clubs instead of required classes. Many parents have fought

hard to keep these classes as part of curriculums—arguing that they are outlets for students who face challenging academic standards. They say that, if these classes are made optional, students will never express themselves artistically or learn new skills like playing an instrument. Despite parental worries, those who orchestrate the school budgets say music classes specifically have unnecessary costs like travel and instrument purchases. Based on your experiences, are these costs “unnecessary”? Should music programs be a required part of all school curriculums? In your essay, take a position on this question. You can choose to argue either side, or you may present a different point of view on this question, but you must use specific reasons and examples to support your position.

Answer:

Read this excerpt from a speech.

As you enter middle school, you are faced with a number of challenging decisions. You will be treated differently than you were in elementary school, and your academic courses will be more challenging. You are fortunate to have a voice in the selection of your elective classes. If you choose to incorporate the arts, you will be richly rewarded and enlightened. Our school offers chorus, band, orchestra, and art for incoming students.

What line reveals the speaker’s efforts to persuade?

The arts and music classes are not an unnecessary cost. From personal experience, I have learned that students work better when they have something to look forward to during the day. A large portion of students do not care for subjects such as math and science, but instead like classes were they are free to show creativity. After school, teenagers tend to have activities such as sports, volunteer groups, study sessions, and lots of home work as well. When students have classes such as music and the arts ripped away from them and then put into an afterschool club it will make it much more difficult to participate in in those clubs, now students will no longer have a class to look forward to. this will also how they di in their core classes. Students are already really busy outside of school, if you add more clubs on top of that outside of school they will begin to become overwhelmed and fall behind. if you keep these electives along with the core classes, you will have happier students, students who are less stressed and less overwhelmed, and students who will perform better in all of their classes.

I believe that this is about 200 words.

I hope this was helpful!
