To find the amount of time, take the distance and divide by the rate. The answer will be in hours.
Notice that the distance to your drandparents' home is less than 4 miles, so it will take less than one hour.
3.67 miles / 4 miles/hour = 0.9175 hours
To change this into minutes, multiply by 60, the number of minutes in one hour:
0.9175 hours x 60 minutes/hour = 55.05 minutes, which rounds to 55 minutes.
If you are interest in numbers, you might like to read the following:
2/3 = .6666666... which rounds to .67
So 3.67 miles might actually mean 3 2/3 miles.
If it does: (3 + 2/3) / 4 x 60 = exactly 55 minutes

AleksAgata [21]
The probability any one system works is 0.99
So the probability of any one system failing is 1-0.99 = 0.01, so basically a 1% chance of failure for any one system

Multiply out the value 0.01 with itself four times
0.01*0.01*0.01*0.01 = 0.000 000 01
I'm using spaces to make the number more readable
So the probability of all four systems failing is 0.00000001
Subtract this value from 1 to get
1 - 0.00000001 = 0.99999999

The answer is 0.99999999 which is what we'd expect. The probability of at least one of the systems working is very very close to 1 (aka 100%)

Take a square sheet of paper 20 cm by 20 cm, cut identical squares from each corner, and fold up the flaps to make a box (withou
iris [78.8K]

The maximum possible volume of this type of box that can be made from a 20 cm by 20 cm square of paper is 512cm³.

How to calculate the volume?

From the information, when the side of 1cm are cut, this will become an open box. The volume will be:

= 18 × 18 × 1

= 324cm³

Also, when 2cm is cut, the volume will be:

= 16 × 16 × 2

= 512cm³
