If the burned skin sticks to the hot object, or if it has melted over (clothing, plastic object, wax, ...), go all in cold water. Do not try to separate them because you may tear the skin. Cool the burn is an emergency that must not postpone. Whatever happens, always remember to quickly cool the burn.
