If x=0, you have

\displaystyle\lim_{y\to0}\frac{y^3}{y^2}=\lim_{y\to0}y=0

But if y=0, you have

\displaystyle\lim_{x\to0}\frac{x^4}{x^4}=\lim_{x\to0}1=1

So the limit does not exist.

Solve the system of equations y = x + 5 and y = 5x - 11 using a graphical method.
tresset_1 [31]

You can use substitution for this.

x+5 = 5x -11

Combine like terms

16=4x

Divide 4 on both sides to isolate the x

x=4

Plug x=4 to one of the equations

y= 4 +5

Combine like terms

y=9

So the answer is A. (4,9)

I hope this helps you out a bunch hun :)

Jordan will hike the trail shown at a rate of mi/h. Write a linear equation to represent the distance Jordan still has to walk
agasfer [191]

Answer:

<em>y = (-mi/h)x + b</em>

y = total distance left to cover

-mi/h = speed at wich he is covering ground

b = the total distance to cover from start to finish

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope Intercept form without other variables filled is shown like this with <em>mx </em>being the slope and <em>b </em>being the y intercept

<em>y = mx + b</em>

all we need to do is fill in known variables with hours multiplied by <em>x </em>represented as <em>m</em>...

<em>y = (-mi/h)x + b</em>

note the negative symbol, this shows that the higher that miles an hour (mi/h) aka speed is, the more distance he will cover REDUCING the distance to cover faster meaning the line will slope DOWNWARD

<em>b</em> would be the the total distance that he has started with, meaning on the point where the line crosses the y axis, the number it crosses at will represent how much he has started with

Write a postive or negative integer that repesents the situation. A football team loses 3 yards
Andreas93 [3]

Answer: -3

Step-by-step explanation:

Loses means negative. It is getting lesser and if you use a number line and start from zero, you move to the left side of it and get -3. I hope that helps.
