To find the Area of the Shaded region:

☆Make a Formula of how to get it in your head.

= Area of Triangle - Area of Circle

Equilateral means all the sides are the same. Thus all. the sides are 10

☆Find Area of Triangle

Formula: Area of Triangle=

1,2(Base ×Height)

1,2(10×10)

100 ÷ 2 = 50 unit^2

☆Find Area of Circle

Assume: Radius of circle is 5

☆ Área of Circle= Pi × r^2

Pi × 5^2 = Pi × 25

Área of Circle = 78.5 (approximately)

Using Formula

Area of Triangle - Area of Circle

50 -

If the ratio of surface areas of 2 similar figures is 144/25 ; What is the ratio of their volumes?
kkurt [141]

Answer:

1728/ 125

Step-by-step explanation:

The ratio of corresponding lengths  of the figures = ratio of the square root of their areas.

So ratio of lengths =  12/5.

Now volume is 3 dimensional  so the ratio is the cube  of the lengths

= 12^3/5^3

= 1728/ 125.

A box contains 6 black socks and 4 red socks. What is the probability of picking two black socks from the bag without replacemen
bazaltina [42]

Answer:

9/25

Step-by-step explanation:

Our box contains 10 socks. (6, which are black and 4 which are red)

Probability of picking 1 black sock will be 6/10

Number of ways it can occur / Total number of outcomes.

In this question we pick two socks, one black firstly and another black, in the second turn. When we say AND, it means intersection

P (B₁ ∩ B₂) = 6/10 . 6/10

When the events are independent, the probability of the intersection will be the product of the probabilities,

P (B₁ ∩ B₂) = 36/100 = 9/25
