A florist is creating centerpieces for an upcoming event later this evening. She has already been working for two hours and has

budgeted only 6 hours to create the centerpieces. Each centerpiece takes 15 minutes to make. If x represents the number of centerpieces she makes from now until the event, which inequality represents this situation?
120x - 15 ≤ 360
120 + 15x ≤ 360
15 + 120x < 360
120 - 15x < 360

First, the variable to be used is defined:
x = represents the number of centerpieces she makes from now until the event.
We consider the following conversion of units:
1 hour = 60 minutes.
Thus,
2 hours = 120 minutes
6 hours = 360 minutes
Therefore, the inequality in minutes is:
120 + 15x ≤ 360
Answer:

An inequality that represents this situation is:

120 + 15x ≤ 360

Stels [109]
So all 4 bags of sugar yielded 5 and 1/2 cups..... well.. how many in each one? well, let's split the 5 and 1/2 evenly in 4 pieces.

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{5}\frac{1}{2}\implies \cfrac{5\cdot 2+1}{2}\implies \stackrel{improper}{\cfrac{11}{2}}\\\\
-------------------------------\\\\
\cfrac{\quad\frac{11}{2} \quad }{4}\implies \cfrac{\quad\frac{11}{2} \quad }{\frac{4}{1}}\implies \cfrac{11}{2}\cdot \cfrac{1}{4}\implies \cfrac{11}{8}\implies \stackrel{cups}{1\frac{3}{8}
}

A production process produces 2% defective parts. a sample of 5 parts from the production is selected. what is the probability t
Lana71 [14]

Answer:

Probability of a sample that contains exactly two defective parts is .0037 or .37%

Step-by-step explanation:

As we know if P is the probability of achieving k results in n trials then probability formula is P = \binom{n}{k}p^{K}q^{n-k}

In this formula n = number of trials

                        k = number of success

                        (n-k) = number of failures

                         p = probability of success in one trial

                         q = (1-p) = probability of failure in one trial

In this sum n = 5

                  k = 2

number failures (n-k) = (5-2) = 3

                            p = 2% which can be written as .02

                            q = 98% Which can be written as .98

Now putting these values in the formula

                        P = \binom{5}{2}(.02)^{2}(.98)^{5-2}

                        P = \binom{5}{2}(.02)^{2}(.98)^{3}

                   \binom{5}{2}= 5!/3!2!

                                              = 5×4×3×2×1/3×2×1×2×1

                                              = 5×2 =10

                                       P = 10×(.02)²×(.98)³

                                          = .0037 or .37%
