The table shows the tolerance range of some common freshwater organisms to different pH ranges in water. Acid rain causes the pH

of rivers, lakes, and streams on Earth to change. Based on the data table, which animal population will be the LAST to die out due to an increase in acid rain?
Organism/ Lowest pH For Survival
Trout 5.0
Bass 5.5
Perch 4.5
Frogs 4.0
Salamanders 5.0

Answer: Frogs will be last to die due to increase in acid rain.

Explanation: Acid rain is a form of rain with high concentration of hydrogen ions and is acidic in nature. pH of these rains is low.

pH is the negative logarithmic of hydrogen ion concentration. It is known as power of hydrogen.

Mathematically,

pH=-\log[H^+]

More the hydrogen ion concentration, low will be the pH and vice-versa.

For the given question, the animal which has the lowest value of pH will be able to tolerate the acid rain more and will be last to die.

From the tolerance range of the animals, frogs has the lowest pH for survival which is 4 and it can bear more acid rain than the rest of the animals will be the last to die.

Hence, the correct answer is Frogs.

Which is composed of amino acids and determines all the structures and functions of organisms?
storchak [24]
The answer is proteins.

Proteins are made of amino acids and they determine each and every function of your body, from the process of digestion to the structure of your own hairs, even your eye and skin colour just everything. It depends on the polypeptide sequence of each protein as all have a different sequence and thus will lead to different types of bonding shapes, giving each and every protein of our body a function.

Murrr4er [49]

Answer:

The correct answer is e. the ability to replicate the genetic information accurately for the next generation

Explanation:

As there are chances of existence of life in the universe but we can not say that they will have the same type of genetic material as we have but the ability of replication of genome and the ability to pass the genetic information accurately to the next generation will be the most common feature in all genome because without genome replication and transfer life can not evolve and proceed on any planet.

Therefore replication and genetic information transfer to the next generator is necessary. So the right answer is e.
