Madison believed that the most powerful branch of the government is the legislative branch. This branch <span>has the power to tax, however only the House of Representatives can introduce tax legislature, and it still requires senate approval. Hope this helps. Have a great day!</span>

During the Gilded age the economy was growing very fast, but Industrialization brought high corruption levels, urban poverty and over-consumption of many items due capitalism was booming.

The railroads controlled all the prices, and farmers needed to rely on the railroads to transport their crops around the country; there was an increase in the number of farmers  so their prices declined, and they were earning less and less; so many farmers lost their land not being able to compete, turning into tenant farming (<em>renting the right to farm</em>) they were farmers without farms. They were not able to keep up with inflation rates either.

Why did the colonists oppose the taxes imposed after the French and Indian War?

The correct answer is <span>C. They claimed that since the colonies had no representation in Parliament, Parliament had no right to tax them.

They thought that the government should have no right to levy taxes if they don't have a representative in the British parliament. This was a rather widespread opinion which soon led to the beginning of the revolution.</span>
