Answer:

B. Conductive hearing loss

Explanation:

Conductive hearing loss refers to a problem transfering sound waves because of a blockage or damage in the outer ear, middle ear or tympanic membrane. This problem can be treated with medicines or surgery and hearing can be fully restored. Conductive hearing loss can be caused for several things like an accumulation of ear wax, a middle ear infection or a chronic infection. Because of this, the answer is conductive hearing loss.

Genevieve (Genny) Osaka, 14 m/o infant female; MVA at 4 m/o causing C4 spinal fracture and SCI, lives w/ mom, has trach and on m
MrRissso [65]

The question is asking for a detailed explanation of the case of Genevieve (Genny) Osaka, a 14-month-old infant female who was involved in a motor vehicle accident (MVA) at 4 months of age, resulting in a cervical spine fracture at the C4 level and a spinal cord injury (SCI).

What are some points to note?

Some possible points to include in the answer are:

A C4 spinal fracture is a break in the fourth cervical vertebra, which is located in the neck region of the spine. This can damage the spinal cord, which is the bundle of nerves that carries signals between the brain and the rest of the body.

A tracheostomy (trach) is a surgical procedure that creates an opening in the neck to access the trachea. A trach tube is inserted into the opening to allow air to pass in and out of the lungs. A trach can help a person breathe more easily, prevent airway obstruction, and reduce the risk of infections and complications from long-term mechanical ventilation.

A J-tube is a type of feeding tube that is surgically placed into the jejunum, which is the middle part of the small intestine. A J-tube can deliver liquid nutrition and medications directly into the digestive system, bypassing the mouth, throat, and stomach. A J-tube can help a person who has difficulty swallowing, has a risk of aspiration, or has poor nutritional status.

Genny lives with her mom, who is her primary caregiver. Her mom is responsible for managing her trach care, mechanical ventilation, J-tube feedings and medications, and other aspects of her daily care. Her mom also has to cope with the emotional, financial, and social challenges of having a child with a severe disability.

Genny's mom is finalizing things for childcare, which means she is looking for a suitable and reliable person or facility that can take care of Genny while she is away for work or other reasons. Finding childcare for a child with complex medical needs can be difficult, as it requires specialized training, equipment, and resources.

Genny's mom may also have to consider the cost, availability, quality, and safety of the childcare options. She may also have to coordinate with Genny's healthcare team, insurance company, and social services to arrange for the appropriate level of care and support for Genny and herself.

Research the use in the military of magnetic anomaly detectors, mads. write a brief 300-word essay answer the following question
gladu [14]

Answer:

The main idea behind MADs is that they use the principle that metallic objects (submarines) interfere in the magnetic lines of Earth forces. And this equipment detects this anomaly. Submarines, among many metallic things, can be detected by using MADs.

The history of MAD development

MADs are Magnetic Anomaly Detectors. Their function is to detect anomalies in the Earth’s magnetic field caused by submarines.

Submarines are made of ferrous metal which contains domains that are tiny magnets formed of iron molecules. This material creates a disturbance that can be detected in the magnetic field.

In 1917 the interest in the detection of submarines started with the study of hydrophones. Then in 1918, the U.S. considered using magnetism in this area but it did not result to be practical as it had a limited detection range. Then by 1941, Britain and the U.S. developed magnetic detection devices to measure Earth’s magnetic field, so after that in 1943, MADs were installed in ASW aircrafts. Due to the limited range and its lack of ability to detect the magnetic variance from different sources, MAD started to be used in combination with sonobuoys (a portmanteau of sonar and buoy). This combination allowed an aircraft to detect submarines with the confirmation of sonobuoys. To reduce the interference from electrical equipment or metal in the aircraft, the MAD sensor is placed at the end of an aerodynamic device. Even so, a submarine must be very near the aircraft's position and close to the sea surface for detection of the anomaly, because magnetic fields decrease over distance.

Besides the use of finding submarines, MADs are used by geologists and geophysicists for determining the distribution and concentration of magnetic minerals and mineral deposits.

F(x) =-x+1, evaluate f(x+h)
Show all work
krok68 [10]

Answer:

-1

Explanation:

Find components of the definition.

f(x+h)=-h-x+1\\f(x)=-x+1

Plug in components

\frac{f(x+h)-f(x)}{h} = \frac{-h-x+1-(-x+1)}{h}

Simplify.
