Poetry has many definitions. One of them is the definition of poetry based on its purpose. Poetry or prose is written and used to argue, narrate, describe, and define. It is benefited for all of these purposes, but on top of that, the purpose of poetry is beyond the literal. Poetry is used to evoke a feeling, an idea, or a reaction toward the readers or listeners.
