DNA is present in the nucleus that contains information for the protein synthesis in the form of genetic codes. The process of  protein synthesis takes place in ribosomes, which are present outside the nucleus.

The DNA, first makes RNA with the help of RNA polymerase enzyme and information present in DNA gets transferred to mRNA. This mRNA molecule is then transported to the ribosome and provides information for the protein synthesis during translation.
