Answer:

The symbolic gesture used by the monks excommunicating excommunicating government officials, military and supporters is upturned begging bowls.

Explanation:

The monks in Myanmar protested against high fuel prices by refusing to accept alms. They held the bowls they use to beg for alms upside down by showing its black lacquer surfaces out.

By refusing to accept alms from military rulers and families the monks were excommunicating them from Buddhist religion.

The number of monks and soldiers in Myanmar is almost equal and monks are the ultimate moral authority in Myanmar.

Write three to five sentences about one explorer's expedition to North America and how it impacted the people living there.
torisob [31]

Answer:

Christopher Columbus was a Portuguese explorer who discovered Central America and the Native Americans living there. He originally was supposed to sail to the coast of India. But, instead ended up arriving at the East coast of America. He called the native tribes living in the area Indians. His discovering of the americas affected the native americans living there because of the europeans claiming and taking over most of the americans land. This left the indians weak and defenseless in areas of defense Overall, the indians were much less advanced strategically and the arriving of the europeans left the americans at a strategical disadvantage.

How do traffic laws facilitate communication and cooperation on the road? give three examples of traffic laws and how they help
wariber [46]
Three examples of traffic laws are the following;
- no parking - signs like this is a sign of saying that drivers are not allowed to park in a specific area by which they are placed to avoid cars to be parked in an area that may be risky and that would cause major or minor accidents
- traffic lights - traffic lights are provided in order for drivers to know when to stop or go by which this will prevent accidents to occur especially if there is an intersecting road ahead and to form a traffic overflow
- no u-turn - this allows drivers to drive in one path without having to turn back to the original direction where they came from especially if the path that they are headed to is risky for a driver to turn back to, this will prevent traffic and accidents that could occur

Mellie has not been out of the house in three weeks because she is afraid that people are following her and planning on hurting her, which makes her very worried. Mellie’s neighbors are worried about her. Which of the following statements does NOT characterize Mellie’s experience?

a) Her behavior may be adaptive

b) Her behavior is upsetting to others

c) Her behavior deviates from social norms

d) Her behavior is personally distressing

Explanation:

It is clear from the details of Mellie's situation that her behavior is distressing to her and her neighbors. It is also not in keeping with the unwritten rules of society, or social norms.

However, Mellie's behavior is not adaptive. Adaptive behavior is behavior that enables people to get along and survive in their environment with the least amount of disagreement or awkwardness with others. This is exactly the opposite of Mellie's behavior.
