Out of 40 chocolates, ram and i shared in the ratio 1:3 . how many chocolates did ram get?

It the chocolates are shared in the ratio of 1 to 3 then the total is 4

Ram : I

1:3  

1+ 3 = total

1+ 3 =4

Our total is 40, but the ratio stays the same, we just add the variable x to the 1 and the 3

1x+ 3x =40

Combine like terms.

4x = 40

Divide each side by 4

4x/4 = 40/4

x =10

So ram will get 1 * 10 = 10 and you will get 3 * 10 = 30

So ram had 10 chocolates and i had 30 chocolates

because 1:3= 10:30
=> 4= 40

D = M/V  ⇒  M = DV

V = 0.5 * 0.5 * 0.75 = 0.1875 cubic foot
