1. WWI soldiers got shell shock because the war they were fighting was much more brutal and deadlier then the previous wars, because of the industrialized machinery and styles of warfare that were introduced, such as the machine gun and trench warfare.

2. another reason might be because the age of entering the war was low compared to recent wars (19th century vs 20th century), which left the soldiers still developing minds prone to damage from the war.

After the Isle of Jersey in the English Channel, the region was given the official name New Jersey. The Isle of Jersey has been governed by Carteret.
