Types of Bonds can be predicted by calculating the difference in electronegativity.
If, Electronegativity difference is,

Less than 0.4 then it is Non Polar Covalent

Between 0.4 and 1.7 then it is Polar Covalent

Greater than 1.7 then it is Ionic

For P and Cl,
                    E.N of Chlorine                =   3.16
                    E.N of Phosphorous        =   2.19
                                                             ________

                      E.N Difference                     0.97          (Polar Covalent)

For K and Br,
                    E.N of Bromine                =   2.96
                    E.N of Potassium             =   0.82
                                                             ________

                      E.N Difference                     2.14          (Ionic)

For C and C,
                    E.N of Carbon                =   2.55
                    E.N of Carbon                =   2.55
                                                             ________

                      E.N Difference                   0.00          (Non-Polar Covalent)

Be sure to answer all parts. draw the product of the lewis acid-base reaction. label the electrophile and nucleophile. br2 + feb
jolli1 [7]

Br₂ + FeBr₃----->Br-Br-FeBr₃

In this reaction,  FeBr₃, is a electron-deficient species that is it act as a lewis acid.

While Br₂, donates its electron to  FeBr₃.

Br₂, act as a electrophile while FeBr₃ is a lewis acid.

Futher if Br₂, undergoes a reaction an aromatic ring , then that ring will attack Br₂, and it acts as a electrophile.

How many electrons can occupy the 4p sub level of a neutral atom of bromine?
natita [175]

Answer:

five electrons

Bromine (Z=35), which has 35 electrons, can be found in Period 4, Group VII of the periodic table. Since bromine has 7 valence electrons, the 4s orbital will be completely filled with 2 electrons, and the remaining five electrons will occupy the 4p orbital
