Types of Bonds can be predicted by calculating the difference in electronegativity.
If, Electronegativity difference is,

                Less than 0.4 then it is Non Polar Covalent

                Between 0.4 and 1.7 then it is Polar Covalent

                Greater than 1.7 then it is Ionic

For P and Cl,
                    E.N of Chlorine                =   3.16
                    E.N of Phosphorous        =   2.19
                                                             ________

                      E.N Difference                     0.97          (Polar Covalent)

For K and Br,
                    E.N of Bromine                =   2.96
                    E.N of Potassium             =   0.82
                                                             ________

                      E.N Difference                     2.14          (Ionic)

For C and C,
                    E.N of Carbon                =   2.55
                    E.N of Carbon                =   2.55
                                                             ________

                      E.N Difference                   0.00          (Non-Polar Covalent)

A student measures the mass of a substance as 1.7132kg and it's volume as 0.65l. What is the density substance in g/mL? Round yo
Anna007 [38]

Answer:

The substance has a density of 2.636 grams per mililiter.

Explanation:

We must remember that density (\rho), measured in grams per mililiters, is the mass of the substance (m), measured in grams, divided by its volume (V), measured in mililiters. That is:

\rho = \frac{m}{V}

In addition, a kilogram equals 1000 grams and a liter equals 1000 mililiters. If we know that m = 1713.2\,g and V = 650\,mL, then:

\rho = \frac{1713.2\,g}{650\,mL}

\rho = 2.636\,\frac{g}{mL}

The substance has a density of 2.636 grams per mililiter.

How do scientists distinguish between an element and a compound? List two elements and two compounds.
Vsevolod [243]
The difference between an element and a compound is that an element is composed of only one kind of atom while a compound is composed of at least 2 kinds of atoms. The properties of an element and the compound the atoms has to form are different physically and chemically.Example of element are O and H, while compound examples are H2O and H2O2.
