each month for 6 months, Kelsey completes 5 paintings. How many more paintings does she need to complete before she has complete
AveGali [126]
In one month she completed 5 paintings, so in 6 month she completed 6 * 5 = 30 paintings.

38 - 30 = 8 - that's how many paintings she's still about to complete.

If she can do 5 paintings in one month, she'll do 8 paintings in 1 3/5 months. If we assume that month has 30 days, she'll probalby need one month and 18 days to do it (because 3/5 from 30 is 18).

Celine has a bottle that contains 20% milk and the rest water. The bottle has 1 liter of water. Part A: Write an equation using
kirill [66]

Part A:

x - total number of liters ( milk + water )

0.2 x + 1 = x

Part B :

0.2 x + 1 = x

0.8 x = 1

x = 1 : 0.8 = 1.25 lit.

Milk:

1.25  x  0.2 = 0.25 lit.

The number of bacteria in a certain population increases according to an exponential growth model, with a growth rate of 3.5% pe
uysha [10]
Generic exponential growth model: y = Ao[1+r]^t

In this case: r = 3.5% = 0.035

y = 2Ao .....[the double of the initial value]

Then: 2Ao =Ao (1 + 0.035)^t

(1.035)^t =2

Take logarithm to both sides

t ln(1.035) = ln(2)

t = ln(2) / ln(1.035) = 0.693 / 0.0344 = 20.15

Answer: 20.15 hours.

If one circle has a diameter of 20 cm and a second circle has a diameter of 40 cm, what is the ratio of the area of the larger c
taurus [48]

Answer:

The ratio of the area of the larger circle to the area of the smaller circle will be: 4/1 or 4:1

Step-by-step explanation:

The diameter of a larger circle = d = 40 cm

                                                 r = d/2 = 40/2 = 20 cm

The area of the larger circle = πr²

                                               = 3.14 (20)²

                                                = 3.14 × 400

                                                 = 1256 cm²

The diameter of a smaller circle = 20 cm

                                                   r = d/2 = 20/2 = 10 cm

The area of the smaller circle = πr²

                                                 = 3.14 (10)²

                                                 = 3.14 × 100

                                                 = 314 cm²

Thus,

The area of the larger circle = 1256 cm²

The area of the smaller circle = 314 cm²

Therefore,

The ratio of the area of the larger circle to the area of the smaller circle will be computed as:

  • 1256:314  or   1256/314

reducing the ration into a simpler form

  • 1256/314 = 4/1

Thus, the ratio of the area of the larger circle to the area of the smaller circle will be: 4/1 or 4:1

What is the solution to -3/7m < 21
Anika [276]

Simplify 3/7m to 3m/7

-3m/7 < 21

Multiply both sides by 7

-3m < 21 × 7

Simplify 21 ×7 to 147

-3m < 147

Divide both sides by -3

m > -147/3

Simplify 147/3 to 49

m > -49
