Answer:

Validate

Change of one form of energy into other can occur according to the law of conservation of energy.

Explanation:

According to the law of conservation of energy, energy can not be created or destroyed. However, one energy form can be transformed into another form. These energy transformations also occur in ecosystems.

In the given example, the solar energy from the Sun was used by seagrass to perform the process of photosynthesis.

During the process, the energy from sunlight was converted into the chemical energy of organic nutrients (glucose). Part of these nutrients is used by seagrass as an energy source while rest is stored in its tissues. The transformation of radiant energy from the Sun into the chemical energy of nutrients present in seagrass follows the law of conversation of energy.

Why does a new DNA strand elongate only in the 5' to 3' direction during DNA replication? (A) DNA polymerase begins adding nucle
Georgia [21]

A new DNA strand elongate only in the 5' to 3' direction during DNA replication because the  "polarity of the DNA molecule prevents addition of nucleotides at the 3' end" .

DNA replication occurs in the 5' to 3' direction. DNA polymerase can only add nucleotides to the 3' OH group of the growing DNA strand, this is why DNA replication occurs only in the 5' to 3' direction.

DNA polymerase can only add to the 3' end, so the 5' end of the primer remains unaltered. Consequently, synthesis proceeds immediately only along the so-called leading strand.

Hence, the correct answer will be option (B)

In _______ a population isolated by a geographic barrier becomes a new species as it accumulates changes by natural selection or
Mashcka [7]

Answer:

The correct answer is allopatric speciation.

Explanation:

Allopatric speciation occurs when a geographical barrier comes between a species population living in the same area. This geographical barrier separates the population into two different geographical area which do not have the same condition.

So as both the separated population get different habitat environment to live so they evolve differently from each other. So natural selection and genetic drift works differently in both the population which brings genetic changes in the population and helps in creating a new species.

Metabolic pathways can be controlled through the availability of enzymes and modulation of their catalytic activities. Enzyme av
postnew [5]

Answer: a) substrate and cofactors b) covalent modification

Explanation:

Metabolic pathways involve all the chemical processes takes place in the enviornment or in an organisms. The metabolic pathways are controlled through the catalytic activities of enzymes.

The availability of enzyme is regulated  by substrate and cofactors present in enzyme and enzyme activity is commonly regulated via covalent modification.

Enzymes are highly selective in nature and bind to a specific substarte only. The active site in enzyme binds with the substrate to form enzyme substrate complex. Coactors assist the enzyme activity, without cofactor enzyme can not perform its activity.

Hence enzyme availibility is regulated by  substrate and cofactors regulates.

Covalent modifications regulates activity of enzyme as it involves addition and removal of chemical group to synthesis required protein. It can change the chemical properties of the site by targeting one or multiple amino acid.

Thus the correct answer is a) substrate and cofactors b) covalent modification
