The commutative property of addition states that a + b = b + a, in other words, the numbers in an addition problem can be flipped, but the result will be the same, the answer is C.

The answer is C. The commutative property is when you can move the numbers around to get the same answer. Since 3 + 5 = 7 , 5 + 3 = 7, and they use the same numbers so you can verify that this is the commutative property.

An excellent swimmer is confident he can judge his speed in the water exactly. He bets he can swim two lengths of a 50-meter Oly
Salsk061 [2.6K]
The time needed at 2 meters per second for both rounds would be 100/2 s or 50 seconds. For the first lane he already used 50/1.5 -> 33.33 seconds, so he would need to cover the other 50 meters in exactly 16.67. 50m divided by the 16.67 seconds he has left means he has to swim at a speed of 3 meters per second.

Divide 20m^2n^3 - 10m^2n by 5mn
Sonja [21]

\frac{20 {m}^{2} {n}^{3} - 10 {m}^{2}n }{5mn} \\ = \frac{5mn(4m {n}^{2} - 2m) }{5mn} \\ = 4 {m}^{2} n - 2m \\ = 2m(2mn - 1)

Hope this helps. - M

What is 1/4 (5y-3)+1/16 (12y+17
netineya [11]

What is the question? If you are only trying to expand the expression then the answer would be:

1/4 (5y-3)+ 1/16 (12y+17)

(5y/4) – (3/4) + (12y/16) + (17/16)

1.25y – 0.75 + 0.75y + 1.0625

2y + 0.3125

If you are trying to find for y, then you forgot to equate it to 0, that is:

2y + 0.3125 = 0

2y = -0.3125

<span>y = 0.15625</span>

For which values of k does the system of linear equations have zero, one, or an infinite number of solutions? [Note: not all thr
viktelen [127]

Answer:

The system has an infinite solution at k = 6, otherwise for any value of k, it has zero solution.

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the system of linear equations:

3x_{1} -x_{2}=2\;\;\;\;\;\;(1)\\ 9x_{1} -3x_{2}=k\;\;\;\;\;(2)

The system of linear equations can have zero, one, or an infinite number of solutions:

simplify equation (1):

x_{2}=3x_{1} -2

substitute in equation (2), we get

9x_{1} -3(3x_{1}-2)=k\\9x_{1} -9x_{1}+6=k\\0+6=k

we cannot find the value of x_{1} and x_{2}.

so, there is no solution.

Multiply the equation (1) with 3 and put k is 6,

3(3x_{1} -x_{2})=3\times2\\9x_{1} -3x_{2})=6

it means both equations are overlapped. Then, the solution has infinite solutions.

Hence, the system has an infinite solutions at k is 6 otherwise for any value of k it has no solution.
